Frans Rijkers has been working in e-government for over twenty years. His career started at the GBA project in 1989, a nation wide project for the automation of the municipal population registries. After the successful completion of that project, he did numerous projects for the Dutch government: the implementation of the civil service number (BSN) in the GBA-system, the design of digital forms for the Dutch Tax Office, the design of the registration of non-residents (RNI) and the system of key registers. Since 2013, Frans has been working at the Dutch National office for Identity Data. In his current position as strategic advisor Identity and Innovation he is involved in future developments such as Self Sovereign Identity, Personal Data Management and Privacy by Design.
